Veterinary Ventures (the manufacturer) recommends that you clean your fountain regularly. But, there are parts of your fountain that are too difficult to access with your hands or sponges. The 3 Brush Cleaning Kit allows you to get residue and debris from the smallest crevices and tubes. A clean Pet Fountain will keep your pet happy by removing residue which causes odor and/or offensive taste, reducing the health effectiveness of the fountain. Removing debris will reduce the chances of a motor jam, and help keep your pet fountain running for years and years. The fountain should be cleaned about once a week. The inside of the motor should be cleaned about every 2 weeks to prevent food and hair from clogging the motor.
